There’s an active recall on approximately 15,388 pounds of beef jerky and beef snack stick products, according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS). This is due to misbranding and an undeclared allergen.
Various brands of beef snack products were impacted by this recall, including Uncommon Ground, Spear, Big D’s and more. View the recall for the full list of brands and flavors affected. These recalled products were sold at retail locations nationwide from May 30, 2023, through May 30, 2025. All of the packaging contains an establishment number of “EST. 20528.”
Check your beef jerky or sticks and if it matches any of the recalled products, dispose of it or return it to your place of purchase for a refund. These items are being recalled because they may contain fish, specifically anchovies, which is a common allergen that needs to be declared on the packaging. Those with a fish allergy may unknowingly consume these products, posing an allergic reaction risk.
Common symptoms of anaphylaxis include hives, swelling, tightness of the throat, nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, diarrhea, dizziness and cardiac arrest. If you are showing any of these signs, call 911 immediately.
